The Commitment

When you sign up to tutor with me we are making a commitment to your students education. The student is behind for a specific reason and I am responsible for improving their understanding in the subject area, I take that responsibility very seriously. I expect that the parent and student will make an effort to attend every tutoring session. I understand unscheduled vacations but, I still charge for those sessions. If your child is sick that is another story and those sessions are omitted from this commitment. If you decide to go on a spur of the moment vacation that is fine but, I will still charge you for those sessions and we can make up those sessions when you come back. I am always prepared for your students and also preparing for the next lesson. Even though you are on vacation I am still thinking about how I can best reach your student. If you decide to go on a spur of the moment vacation again that is fine but, that now results in a little bit of review with your student and a possible slight backslide in their learning. The goal of tutoring is to get the student up to speed and fill in the holes of their education so the less intermissions we have in that process the better.
