KATIE’S TUTORING SERVICES

I teach at the pace of the students with the standards in mind!

What students do I tutor?

I have worked with a wide variety of students, from highly motivated learners to those who attend tutoring at the encouragement of their parents. While I strive to keep every student engaged, the greatest success often comes from students who bring their own desire to learn and grow.
I also have experience working with neurodivergent learners, including students with Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, Autism (verbal and non-verbal), and Down syndrome. I believe every student deserves access to a quality education, and I am committed to using the tools and strategies necessary to help each student reach their potential.

What does intervention tutoring look like?

Intervention Tutoring vs. Regular Tutoring
Intervention Tutoring (My option)
-Strengthens holes in education and subject area
-Tutor makes learning fun
-Increase in grades and understanding
-Student won’t need to come back
-Lessons plans are one-on-one and individualized
-Tutor is very familiar with IEP’s and the special education process
-Tutor is a state certified k-8 teacher
-Longer time span but increased actual understanding of the material

Regular Tutoring (Other options)
-Strengthens weak subject area
-Tutor makes learning fun
-Increase in grades and understanding
-Shorter time span, promises results in a certain amount of time regardless of understanding
-Student might need to come back
-Tutoring might be one-on-one
-Tutor might not be familiar with IEPs
-Tutor might not be a certified teacher

Subjects Tutored:
Reading/Spelling k -12
Morphology 3 – 12
Math k-5
Middle/High School Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2 and Geometry)

I can do a meet n’ greet before we start. I understand that meeting new teachers can be scary. I offer a free meet n’ greet where students can meet me and my classroom. It sort of like visiting your classroom before you start school with your new teacher.

Not sure if you need tutoring? I also can do consultations or testing for $100. We can meet one time and talk about your students needs or I can do a subject matter test to give you a better understanding of how your student is doing.

Invoicing amounts:
Year Round tutoring
Tutoring Fee: $100/session
1 session a week/month ~$413.00
2 sessions a week/ month ~$817.00
3 sessions a week/month ~$1,223.00

What does Test Prep look like?

When preparing students for the ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer, I provide the knowledge, strategies, and support needed to help them succeed. While I cannot guarantee a specific score, I will help students understand what to expect on test day and prepare them for the types of questions they will encounter. My goal is to help each student improve from their starting point and build the confidence needed to perform their best. Once a student reaches their target score, we can either conclude tutoring or continue working toward even higher goals.

Tests offered:
Accuplacer (math and reading)
SAT (math and reading)
ACT (math, reading and science)

Test Prep fee: $200/session
The amount of sessions per week depends on when the test is and how ready I need to get your student.
